Trouble is brewing on Parkside in Cambridge, where a mature sycamore tree is causing quite a stir! Its roots are pushing against a historic wall bordering Emmanuel College and its grounds, raising safety concerns for pupils and the public. Let's hope for a swift resolution to protect this important local landmark!

T1 - Mature sycamore (self-set) - Removal to ground level and treatment of stump with eco-plugs. Justification: The self-set sycamore has become established directly against a listed boundary wall that borders both a neighbouring property and the Emmanuel College grounds, including the school playground area. Due to the trees root system becoming entrenched within the wall structure, it is now exerting pressure on the wall and pushing it out of alignment. The condition of the wall has visibly deteriorated and there are concerns that structural failure may occur if the situation is allowed to progress. Given the proximity to areas used by the public and school pupils, this raises clear safety and public liability concerns. šŸ“ 22 Parkside Cambridge Cambridgeshire CB1 1JE šŸ“‹ Ref: 26/0280/TTCA šŸ“ Type: Works to CA trees šŸ“Š Status: Awaiting decision šŸ˜ļø Ward: Market
